A brilliant music-drama
- 04/29/2024
This CD is perfect.
I read the text before listen to it. The play, in its relatively short length builds up the grandness and tension easily with beautiful verses.
I first read about the figure Ariadne in Nietzsche's poem (in 'Dionysus Dithyrambs'), and I just love the classical style!
The introduction shows that Tovey is a genius composer. Although this is only an excerpt from the music-drama, it 'brings me swift back to' Naxos!
