"Today, James Bond music seems to command a whole sub-genre of its own. As more and more album releases from the past begin to materialise, so the demand continues to grow. The latest in the series is Eric Winstone plays 007 (1973). Released by Dutton Vocalion (CDLK 4451) the album was produced by Winstone and KPM's library legend Syd Dale. Originally released on LP (AV INT 1005) all 12 tracks have been beautifully remastered to Vocalion's usual impeccable standards. Ranging from Dr. No (1962) to The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) most of the Bond standards are included. And before you flood me with questions regarding how 1974's The Man with the Golden Gun ended up on a 1973 album? Well, Winstone and Dale simply couldn't wait and instead provided their own unique interpretation of the future Bond sound. As an additional bonus, Vocalion have also included Eric Winstone's full album Supersonic Sounds (1972). Originally released on LP (AVE 0114) the album not only contains some funky renditions of popular tunes of the day, but a generous selection of film music including The Godfather (1972), Shaft (1971), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) and a whole lot more. Overall, another top quality release from Oliver Lomax and the boys, keep em coming!"
