British Rock 'n' Roll at Decca
VOLUME 1

The first volume of British rock n' roll compilation at Decca, covering the years 1957-61. Many of the artists featured on this release started their careers at London's legendary 2 I's coffee bar, the birthplace of British rock n' roll, and indeed some of the tracks are drawn from the 1958 Decca 10 album Rockin' at the 2 I's'. Among the artists to appear are Wee Willie Harris, The Most Brothers (one-half of whom was Mickie Most), Mort Shuman, Don Fox, Eddie Hickey and The Worried Men (who once boasted a pre-fame Adam Faith in their line-up). Many of the best-remembered hits of this golden era are included such as Smack Dab in the Middle, Riot in Cell Block No.9 and Love Bug Crawl (Wee Willie Harris), Be My Girl (Don Fox), Whole Lotta Woman (The Most Brothers) and Who Could Be Bluer? and Plain Jane (Eddie Hickey).
