"'KPM Girl on the Beach/Gentle Sounds' (1969/1968) ... Originally released on the Aristocrat
LP, 'Girl on the Beach' contains music composed mostly by the great James Clarke. The music itself is light, airy, sensual
and sumptuous. Steve Gray's wonderful keyboard magic combine in elegant unison to Anthony
Gilbert's cutting string section to produce an uncomplicated but quite extraordinary sound.
'Gentle Sounds' made a year earlier, was originally released on a KPM LO. While this is also
just as romantic, the style has a genuine international flavour about it, taking in rich bossa and Latin American melodies.
Regular composers such as Keith Mansfield, Johnny Pearson and James Clarke contribute to the album, which serves as a sentimental testimony
to the late Sixties."
